The Science Behind Immune Shake Booster

02-12-18-Science-Behind-Immune-640x400_jpg

Your immune system is faced with countless challenges each day, yet it’s something you might not think about until it’s not working at its peak. With the new science-backed Isagenix Immune Shake Booster, you can keep your immune system going strong with targeted active ingredients.

To be clear, Immune Shake Booster is not designed to prevent, treat, or cure any infection or illness. However, it’s comprised of key ingredients Wellmune® beta-glucan and a blend of Reishi, Maitake, and Poria mushrooms that work together to deliver an effective dose of targeted actives that help keep your immune system in shape.

Wellmune

Wellmune is a 1,3/1,6 beta glucan from the yeast strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae, more commonly known as baker’s or brewer’s yeastBacked by numerous scientific studies, it’s been shown to support the immune system by priming and strengthening key immune cells for a more balanced response (1-6).

Wellmune works when it’s broken down into smaller fragments by specialized immune cells in the intestine. The fragments then bind to neutrophils, the most common immune cell in the body. With regular, consistent ingestion, neutrophils are primed and able to react quickly to pathogens in the body. Researchers have shown that daily supplementation of yeast beta glucans in Wellmune leads to an increase in the effectiveness of the immune response.

The effects have been examined in a variety of individuals – stressed adults, competitive and recreational athletes, older individuals, and children (1-6). Research in all areas consistently concludes that Wellmune is a powerful immunomodulator, supporting a normalized immune response to foreign invaders.

Wellmune has been shown to be effective at a dose of 250 milligrams per day, like that in one serving of Immune Shake Booster (1-4). However, in stressed individuals, or those undergoing intense exercise, up to 500 milligrams each day has been used to further prime, strengthen, and balance the immune system (5-6).

Reishi, Maitake, and Poria Mushroom Blend

Mushrooms have been used for centuries in Chinese medicine and touted for their therapeutic properties. They have also been researched extensively and there are more than 1,000 scientific publications examining the effects mushrooms have on the immune system (7-9).

Researchers agree that Reishi, Maitake, and Poria all contain polysaccharides that modulate the immune system. One such method is by altering the activity of overall immune function through cytokine regulation. Cytokines are small signaling molecules that mediate and control the immune processes that keep us healthy.

How to Use Immune Shake Booster

Immune Shake Booster has a pleasant, neutral taste that mixes well with Isagenix IsaLean™ or IsaLean™ PRO Shakes. Adults using Immune Shake Booster should mix one scoop with an Isagenix shake once daily. Up to two scoops per day can be used, together or separately, during times of increased stress and fatigue, or to support intense exercise training. While Immune Shake Booster is designed to be enjoyed with an Isagenix shake, it can also be added to other viscous beverages.

What about kids? Immune Shake Booster can also be used by children ages four and up by mixing half of a scoop into smoothies, shakes, or other thick beverages.

The key to the Immune Shake Booster is to take it daily for the most effective immune support.  Ingredients in the product have been shown to work best when taken consistently over time.

Once again, keep in mind that the Immune Shake Booster is not meant to treat any illness such as cold or flu, but it works as daily nutrition to strengthen your body’s natural defenses. It does not replace any medication prescribed by your doctor. If you have a medical condition or are taking medications, it is always recommended that you check with your physician before changing any part of your nutrition regimen.

What is Immune Shake Booster?

Immune Shake Booster is a blend of science-supported ingredients that help prime, strengthen, and balance the immune system for better overall health.† With no additional pills or capsules to swallow, and 10 calories per serving, Immune Shake Booster blends easily into any Isagenix shake with a pleasant neutral taste and no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners.

What are beta glucans and what do they do?

Beta glucans are naturally occurring molecules in the cell walls of cereal grains, bacteria, and fungi such as mushrooms. In the body beta glucans trigger activity that primes and strengthens key immune cells enabling them to move more quickly throughout the body in response to pathogens. Wellmune® beta glucans in Immune Shake Booster are supported by substantial scientific evidence showing daily intake supports better immune health in a variety of lifestyles (1-7). Immune Shake Booster also provides beta glucans found in reishi, maitake, and poria mushrooms that help promote increased immune cell action and response (8-13).†

Who can benefit from Immune Shake Booster?

Anyone looking for daily support for immune health can benefit from Immune Shake Booster. The immune system is bombarded with a myriad of challenges to fend off every day of the year, and waiting until the immune system has been compromised to take action is too late. Immune Shake Booster offers daily support for healthy immune function. † Studies on Wellmune® show daily intake supports healthy immune function in adults who feel overly stressed and fatigued and those who engage in intense exercise, among others (1-7).

How should Immune Shake Booster be used?

Adults using Immune Shake Booster should mix 1 scoop with an Isagenix shake once daily. For times of increased stress and fatigue, or to support intense exercise training, use up to 2 scoops per day, taken together or separately. While Immune Shake Booster is best enjoyed with an Isagenix shake, it can be mixed with other viscous beverages.

For kids ages 4 and up, mix ½ scoop into shakes, smoothies, or thick beverages.

Can Immune Shake Booster be taken in addition to cold/flu medications?

Immune Shake Booster is not meant to replace medication or other treatments for cold/flu and/or any other condition that affects the immune system. It’s important to talk to your doctor before making any significant changes to your diet or lifestyle, especially if you have a medical condition or take prescription medications. Immune Shake Booster is designed to support overall healthy immune function as an everyday nutritional supplement.

How is Immune Shake Booster different from Isamune With Zinc?

While the ingredients in both Immune Shake Booster and Isamune® With Zinc support immune health, both the delivery method and specific ingredients differ greatly in these two products. Immune Shake Booster is designed for daily use added to an Isagenix shake to support immune health and function, while Isamune With Zinc is better suited for an extra dose of immune-supporting ingredients when on the go, given the liquid spray delivery.

Additionally, the Immune Shake Booster capitalizes on its inclusion of Wellmune® beta glucans and blend of maitake, reishi, and poria mushrooms, shown to work best when taken consistently over time, while Isamune With Zinc includes a blend of zinc, echinacea, reishi mushrooms, colostrum, bilberry, and blueberry. Because of each product’s unique ingredient profile, both products can be safely used in conjunction for optimal immune health benefit.

Can Immune Shake Booster be used if I have an autoimmune disease?

It is always recommended to first consult with your doctor prior to beginning the use of any Isagenix product, especially with a pre-existing condition such as an autoimmune disease. The Immune Shake Booster does not overstimulate an artificial immune response, but works to prime your body’s natural immune response.

Can Immune Shake Booster be baked into food?

Yes, Immune Shake Booster can be baked into your favorite meal or dish as the ingredients are heat stable and will not be harmed in harsh temperatures.

Can Immune Shake Booster be used at the same time as Heart Shake Booster?

Yes, you can add both Immune and Heart Shake Booster into the same IsaLean Shake for added immune and heart support.

† These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
